We’ve been in contact with the manager of Camp Woodward West and they have agreed to start Hardcore Sitting Week, sometime in 2010. For now, we just want to have a list of people who might be interested, (no commitment needed at this time) so we can learn if there is enough interest to organize it.

This would a be a one-week stay for anyone in a wheelchair interested in being with and learning from Wheelz and each other.

Campers would pay the normal Woodward fees, would have to arrange for any special medical needs on their own, and would have to sign waivers of liability.

On Saturday, January 10th, Aaron will be in Lindsay, California for the grand opening of a skate park. He will be doing a demo at 3:00pm.

Aaron Fotheringham had always wanted to see the wheelchair sport he coined “Hardcore Sitting” become popular. But he didn’t know how to start.

It took a reality TV show, and the generous checkbook of its star, to inspire the northwest Las Vegas resident to take his dream to the next level.

Fotheringham, a 16-year-old who competes in BMX competitions on his wheelchair, received $20,000 during an episode of Fox’s “Secret Millionaire” that aired Dec. 19.

He plans to start his own business, dubbed Hardcore Sitting Company, to help other handicapped children compete in wheelchair athletics.
